Shadow copy

I always enjoyed the shadow copy feature on win2k3 and winxp environment, as I have a habit of deleting the files I need, It’s saves lot of time with out going to backup tapes and restoring etc.

Now vista bring that functionality to home with out a win2k3 server, I didn’t know this till last week when I accidentally deleted the original rip from a DVD instead of a converted wmv file, (too big to get stored on Recycle bin) I kept both on a same folder, so I got mixed up, any way I did some googling to ways to bring the deleted the files and found out Vista have this option and brought it back with in 2 mins how cool.

No family discount for vista ultimate :(

Well I bought the retail version Vista ultimate thinking I can get home premium for $50 (up to 2 pcs), apparently  that\’s only for US and Canada for UKers, we still need to pay £139 to get the same software they get for £25, I\’m gone get some one in Canada to get  it ordered. Stupid M$ then they cry as people pirate their software etc

Windows ReadyBoost

Well I had an old usb stick so thought to give the ReadyBoost a chance, put it in and set all the setting etc and restarted the computer, It didn\’t make my system faster but made my Itunes works with out any crash, don\’t ask me how. I don\’t even know how that\’s linked may be itunes is having trouble accessing prefetched data from the hard drive. Well it works so gone buy another super fast usb disk and use it

here is the video about ReadyBoost

Vista ULTIMATE

\"a06wa1.jpg\"I love my vista business so much I went and bought the ULTIMATE retail copy :D, I know I waste money like crazy, It\’s actually come in a nice case and both CD inc luded (64bit and 32bit). still need activation but allow to change computers, so not a bad deal

new vista pc and Itunes

Finally I build my new computer , Intel E6600 with ASUS  P5B mother board, Its came with the raid controller I was ok as I don\’t store data on my computer so might as well go for RAID 0. Every thing went well till I try to download podcast on Itunes computer restarted automatically and my RAID controller started reporting as  \”Error Ocurred (0)\” on both drives. I know raid 0 is not safe but didn\’t think  it was this bad 😀

Any way as any one I searched  the error message on google to find out It\’s a itunes and Intel raid drivers issue, so updated the raid drivers with Intel  matrix console etc and It\’s seems to fix the restarting issues, now only itunes crash if I try to download any thing in their. so I moved the itunes library to my network drive and all good now.

Phew It did got me worried tho
