using Bank Credit Cards to our advantage

Ok if you hate banks this is the way you and get back at them, credit card companies only make money if we pay interest. which is why they give cashbacks and points etc just so that you will use their cards.

get a cards that give you points or cashbacks use them for your day to day expenses but set up a direct debit you pay the whole money off.

Only spend what you have in the bank account. you might ask why you use the credit card it\’s safer than debit card. and you get cashbacks so they are paying you and not getting any back from you. It\’s a good feeling.

When I was young I fall into their trap as a 19 years old given a credit card and they kept increasing the limit to how ever much I wanted. ended up in lot of trouble. I thought they are doing me a good thing till I calculated the interest I was paying

I learn my lesson. If I wanted to buy anything I just save up. If I can\’t then I won\’t buy it. I know it\’s not an option for everyone. some emergencies do happen but most part this will work.

I read lot from http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/ they have lot of advice on how to save money etc.

Roaming charges on mobile networks O2, 3 , EE etc

apart from three all the networks are very expensive. O2 will charge you £1.25 receive a call and £1.50 to call out. Text will cost another 40p I know O2 give the TVu GO app but data even more expensive. £6 for 100mb some thig crazy like that.

Best bet if you are traveling and needed use your O2 number. get a Three phone on a monthly or pay as you go. run the tu go app you will be able to use the data from three and phone and text from O2.

I know you can do the same thing by getting a local sim. some countries it\’s not easy getting a local sim. and with out knowing the Language we might end up with something we don\’t need or work.

Three works fine anywhere but London. in London it\’s rubbish I think mainly because lot of users are on this. My Mrs uses it when we go north. It\’s works faster than O2.

BE / O2 CUSTOMERS MIGRATION TO SKY

what a mess, most of my clients are getting half of what they used to get with BE/O2 and constant drop out and pings are quite high as well now.

Most of them are just leaving to another ISP. it\’s a shame BE/O2 was a very good isp.

talktalk is not a very good isp but when they buy other small ISPs they keep the small isp as it is. which means the customer experience stay the same. shame talk talk didn\’t buy O2.

whole migration process was a nightmare specially if you are business and used the own equipment. they did send a mail out but most business lost access to the mail address etc. they should have send a postal mail not an email.

IPv6 in adaptation in UK

It\’s embarrassing now we not even on the top 25 countries to ipv6. Sweden on the top of the list we still trying to get the maximum out of ipv4. this is not good as ipv6 is good for every one. I have to fill in IP justification every time I need to get IPv4 addresses.
at home with tunneled ipv6 I can get /64 ip addreses that\’s 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 IPv6 addresses at home.

I cant wait for us to go native on ipv6 no need for NAT etc. it will be more secure as well. all the equipments are ready operating system are ready. because lack of demand isp\’s are don\’t want to do it.

Xbox promising faster speed on ipv6 will be a good sign of thing to come. even streaming services should move over will be good. Google is fully ready for ipv6 even facebook most of the Microsoft sites are but office 365 management on windows server doesn\’t work don\’t know MS fixed that yet.

hope we get rid ipv4 soon and move on a faster newer internet like Sweden

draytek 2860n and port based vlan

I know I wrote a good review of this product. I tried to do a simple port based vlan to share printers between 2 small companies.

it was a nightmare, didn\’t work at all on watchguard it would have been a 30 mins job.

with draytek support ask me to update firmware still no luck then they send me a beta firmware still the same issue.

only way I fixed it with beta firmware and factory reset the device and put all the setting backup on which worked. but took long time

I wouldn\’t recommend this if you thinking to do VLAN etc

Kwik Fit West Ealing are scammers watch-out don\’t trust them. Check it with another garage

I had a puncture like many people I took to Kwik Fit West Ealing as they are close to me. 1st time they said they cant repair the tire as it had a side puncture but it wasn\’t but I was in a hurry so tell them to replace so costed me £220.

Next time I took the car few weeks later for another puncture they said the same thing but I can see where the nail is, so I said no it\’s not a side wall damage. then the guy changed the story saying they don\’t have the puncture patch. which is why he said got ideas to change the whole tire at another £220. He didn\’t offer come back later or we will get the puncture patch is few days etc. If you don\’t want to pay for the new tire he is not interested.

They did ask if my car is company car etc before even they seen the car.

I was chatting another guy who was their had his car on mobility scheme. he said they do change tire unnecessarily but he don\’t care now as his mobility scheme pays for it etc. I dont know how the scheme works but if they are scamming disable people\’s money that\’s way too low for this company.

I googled I think they were in trouble before even watchdog was on their case. shame I didn\’t seen that before. otherwise I would have avoided them. In my experience nothing changed. they still scamming people.

any way I took my car to the tire place next to it and repaired their for like £30+ VAT he said it\’s nothing wrong with the tire.

George Osborne and his speech for new year.

you can read that here I understand what he is saying and all true. but he is saying helping small businesses by reducing the tax but He is still allowing large companies to use legal tax avoidance schemes and pay very less or no corporate tax. Which means they have unfair advantage. I get it they employ more people etc. but if they pay their correct TAX their fee will go up and another small company can get more business and employ more people. I know it\’s not simple as that but unless we try it we wouldn\’t know.

I can easily register my self on another TAX free country and avoid tax and in years time I will have money saved up to hire even high caliber \”tax advisers\” in the city

Basic truth is George Osborne doesn\’t want to upset large companies as they might even donate to his party, it\’s easy to pick on the poor and disabled people.

papers like dailymail and express always write same degrading news about people on benefit. Cameron seems to be in bed with daily mail and express.

ebuyer.co.uk vs dabs.com

I use to buy all my home IT needs from ebuyer.co.uk. now they are very expensive compare to dabs.co.uk. I know ebuyer has an amazing tracking and ordering system but with price on each item differ from £10 to £12 I will have to go with Dabs. I have placed my 1st order will let you know how things go with that so far so good. all the prices are lot lower than last I checked it.

I went with the spec below only thing I changed is the motherboard Asus H81-PLUS S1150 Intel H81 DDR3 mITX as the this motherboard is £40 cheaper and  all the limitation h81 has does not apply to mITX build as I only going to have 1 hdd and 2x 4gb ddr3 ram etc. I don\’t need fancy features offered by the pricy chipsets.

Windows 8.1 haswell pc for bedroom under £350

Antec ISK 110 Mini ITX Case
Intel Core i3-4130 S1150 3.40GHz 3MB
Asus H87I-PLUS S1150 Intel H87 DDR3 mITX
Kingston HyperX Plug n Play 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM (Kit of 2)
Kingston 120GB SSDNow V300 SATA 6Gb/s 2.5\” 7mm Solid State Drive

it\’s not a gaming pc but for what I was planning this is fine going to mount the pc case back of the monitor so it will save space.

BT,Sky and TalkTalk network level porn filter

Well UK\’s 3 largest ISPs decided to go with David Cameron and Claire Perry\’s advice on blocking porn on the internet by default. Excuse they gave was to parents with young children don\’t know how to set this up so we get the ISPs to do it for every one. I\’m sure China would have used similar wording to censer the internet on their citizens too.

David Cameron and Claire Perry is not the smartest bunch when you come to technology. I can add daily mail editors to that list too. they assume most parents are dumb as them.

Trouble is this kind a filters don\’t work. any one can easily get around it. Kids now days with internet forums twitter etc easily get help. already many good news website published how to do this.

At home I use opendns to block most of the site I think not suitable for my home. I set it up a way only allow opendns ips to access the port 53. so any one try to trick the system by changing DNS server on the local computer will not work. This is not a best way but works. This is not that difficult to set it up though just use a search engine to search for your router model and opendns server to block porn.

Out of all papers Sun which has page 3 and dailymail which regularly publish some trashy news/pictures campaigned for it.they must have thought reading their trashy papers will make child a better citizens ?
